SD High School Basketball Rankings

There is one new number one team this week. Sioux Falls Christian switched spots with Madison in the Boys A poll after defeating the Bulldogs last Friday night.

The South Dakota Prep Media basketball poll for the week of Jan. 22 is listed below, ranking the top-five teams, the team’s record, points received and ranking in the previous poll. First-place votes are indicated in parentheses.

Sioux Falls Lincoln garnered six first place votes (including mine), they haven't lost to a team in AA yet either. Truly the hardest class to rank. Aberdeen Central captured the bulk of the top votes with a big road win over Harrisburg and home wins over Mitchell and Yankton. However the rest of the top five field is lurking very close. Sioux Falls Lincoln moved up to three with a win over Brandon Valley. In that game the Lynx were without Trinity Law but despite that loss stay in the top five.

St. Thomas More continues to hold the top spot although Belle Fource still has a perfect record. Those two teams meet next Tuesday (Jan 30) to play for bragging rights in the class. McCook Central/Montrose re-emerges into the top five and West Central's brief stay ends after a week.

No change in this top five as Sully Buttes keeps the top spot, however Castlewood is making some into believers after going 2-0 last week including an overtime win over De Smet.
